Sten Suomi undergoes class survey in Szczecin

The holiday season does not mean empty dry docks at Morska Stocznia Remontowa "Gryfia" S.A. Recently, the shipyard completed repair orders for four chemical tankers of various types. Some of the vessels have already left the shipyard and are performing operational tasks at sea.

Currently, advanced service works are nearing completion on the vessel Sten Suomi, owned by the Norwegian shipowner Stenersen AS. The ship, with an overall length of 144 meters and a beam of 23 meters, arrived in Szczecin for a scheduled class (intermediate) survey. The chemical tanker was docked in the shipyard's largest dock – dock no. 5.

The scope of engineering works includes full hull maintenance, numerous complex piping works, as well as a partial overhaul of the main engine. Specialists from MSR "Gryfia" are also conducting an inspection and repair of selected elements of the vessel's steering and propulsion systems.

In parallel with current fleet servicing, MSR "Gryfia" is implementing a strategic investment in a new floating dock with a lifting capacity of 24,000 tons. The structure, whose segments are currently being launched, will reach operational readiness in 2027, which will allow for the servicing of even larger vessels operating in the Baltic Sea.
