The Maritime University of Szczecin and the Gryfia Shipyard are continuing their strategic partnership. On Tuesday, September 16, Daniel Opas, the CEO of Morska Stocznia Remontowa "Gryfia" (Gryfia Ship Repair Yard), signed an agreement with Professor Artur Bejger, Vice-Rector of the Maritime University of Szczecin, and Klaudia Skibińska, a doctoral student from the University's Faculty of Engineering and Economics. She is currently working on an innovative tool for production scheduling.
Her research focuses on production scheduling resource management in the shipbuilding industry, incorporating the latest trends, including artificial intelligence.
Her doctoral work, conducted at the Gryfia Shipyard, involves a comprehensive analysis of the production processes—from the order stage to a vessel leaving the shipyard. Klaudia Skibińska actively participates in production briefings and familiarizes herself with the project management system, which allows her to gain an in-depth understanding of the industry's challenges and needs.
As a result of this collaboration, the Gryfia Shipyard will be the first to gain access to the innovative tool. The goal is for the tool to significantly improve the planning process and increase operational efficiency.
