January 31st, 2026, the ferry mf Mazovia, part of the Polferries (Polska Żegluga Bałtycka) fleet, arrived at MSR Gryfia Shipyard in Szczecin. The vessel docked for its scheduled five-year class survey, combined with intensive dry-dock maintenance.
The docking process took place during an exceptionally harsh winter period. With temperatures dropping to -15°C and significant ice coverage in the waters, the operation demanded maximum precision and extensive experience from the shipyard team.
The scope of the overhaul includes a comprehensive inspection of the vessel's key machinery:
A standout element of this contract, distinguishing it from standard merchant ship repairs, was the service of the fin stabilizers. These works require the extension of the "fins" and a series of specialized diagnostic and service procedures to assess their technical condition and ensure failure-free operation.
The successful execution of such a complex repair under difficult winter conditions confirms MSR Gryfia's high operational efficiency and our readiness to serve the most demanding ROPAX vessels.
