The sight of the nearly 200-meter hull of the ferry "Epsilon" raised in the dock of the Morska Stocznia Remontowa "Gryfia" is more than just a display of the Szczecin shipyard’s technical capabilities; it is, above all, a symbol of long-term cooperation between two key entities of the West Pomeranian maritime economy. Today, the ferry is moored at the shipyard’s Kaszubskie Quay, serving as the venue for Euroafrica’s 35th-anniversary celebrations.
The ferry "Epsilon," built at the Italian Visentini shipyard, has been serving the Świnoujście–Trelleborg line since January 2024. Its stay at MSR "Gryfia" marked its first class renewal carried out in Poland. This procedure, mandatory every five years, requires high expertise and appropriate technical facilities.
During the dock works, Gryfia specialists conducted a systems inspection and hull maintenance, ensuring the vessel’s documents were renewed for safe navigation in the coming years. A highly visible result of the work was the application of a new logo on the hull, symbolizing the unification of the potential of Polish shipowners – POLSCA.
Choosing MSR "Gryfia" as the site for Euroafrica’s 35th-anniversary celebrations confirms the close business relations and the trust the shipowner places in the Szczecin shipyard.
"The trust Euroafrica places in us by entrusting the maintenance and class renewals of its vessels is a testament to our competence and mutual relations," emphasizes Lech Lechmański, Board Member of MSR "Gryfia." "For a repair shipyard, there is no better recommendation than a strategic partner choosing to celebrate its anniversary here, on the deck of a vessel we prepared for further service. It proves that shipowners see us not just as a service provider, but as a professional guardian of their fleet’s safety."
The long-standing cooperation between MSR "Gryfia" and the Hass Holding Group, which Euroafrica belongs to, includes the ongoing maintenance of the shipowner's fleet, both ferry and cargo.
Interestingly, the Kaszubskie Quay, where the anniversary is being held, is the same location where the "Epsilon" was christened in 2024 when it first entered service under the Euroafrica colors.
